GUESS WHAT TOMORROW IS.

Tue Sep 30, 2008, 11:42 AM
  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Kidneythieves.
  • Reading: Dracula.
  • Eating: Your soul.
  • Drinking: Chai.
It's...

THE FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER.

This means party times are near~ when we can all be together in Portland again~

Until then there is much to be done to make this happen. But I'll stay optimistic no matter what. We WILL have an epic fucking Halloween and party like there's no tomorrow!

And what am I doing? Busy... picked up a third job, little part time under the table gig at the Soda Fountain. Started my Chinese class yesterday (and now have to drop $50 on a textbook; there goes my "extra" money :( ). But my hard work will pay off in more ways than one. I'd like to be able to help out if things start to fall through or fall apart, and besides that, there's saving for my school. And having disposable income to go have fun.

So that's what I've been up to. And now I'm off to work. >>

People try and make Erik sexy. He's not. I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not attracted to men who are missing parts of their face.
I know... I am... but they just reduced my hours at JCP to about 20 a week. That hurts bad, I was getting 30-40 for a while. And Round Table has only been having me on Fridays and Saturdays, so those hours suck too.

I need that third job bad at this point... stupid crap hours. e_e

Stupid student loan payment, phone bill, transportation (bus pass + a bit for gas), food while I'm out at work, and other random expenses like paying for this class, textbook, you know. Life is expensive. :(

I feel your hurt, good luck with all that. Word to the wise: you might see if the Records department is hiring over at the Portland Police Bureau. You should get plenty of hours, and the pay is fantastic, though you might end up working the night shift. But that has its benefits in greater pay. Look into it, I bet my dad would be willing to write you a reference (of course, you might not want him to, management doesn't like him there ;) )

Hmm... what would that entail? Like what do you do there? Greater pay sounds tempting. XD And the problem with me working the night shift is I don't have a car....

I don't know exactly what goes on in Records as I never worked there, but I had to bounce in there a lot to get the mail. What I can tell you is that I had to bus to work, and that I know they do lots of copying and lots of mail sorting. So it's probably going to be kind of mind numbing, but the people can be pretty nice, working downtown is fun, and the pay is good. However, if you get an interview, look as typical all American as possible. I know you won't have a problem with that, though I'd recommend no lip ring.

Mehhh... I think I'll stick with what I've got. ;D At least I don't have to go downtown. But we'll see how things go!
